PTS Poster Project 2011
Kelly Thompson created 30 sets of 12 hand-painted printed posters that depict randomly selected events, artists, galleries, and museums from the city’s historical art scene between the years 1945 and 1980.
In 2011, Kelly Thompson showcased her PTS Poster Project at the Future Studio Gallery/Chicken Boy. This show was curated by gallery owners, Amy Inouye and Stuart Rapeport.
Attendees were invited to participate in the project. Each attendee was given one or two posters and instructed to paste or tape the posters to garbage cans, telephone poles, and public places throughout the city. Once the poster was installed, participants were asked to document it with a photograph. The images (with participant’s name, location, and date of installation) were included in a book and released at the conclusion of the project.
