Debating Through the Arts: Contemporary Issues in Performance Art

"Performance Art Event 4, Debating Through the Arts: Contemporary Issues in Performance Art" was produced by Jerri Allyn and Inez Bush, as part of the Pacific Standard Time Art in L.A. 1945-1980 (The Getty Museum) and Los Angeles Goes Live Performance Art in Southern California 1970-1983. Kelly Thompson was part of Performance Art Event 4, held at the Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions on October 29th, 2011.

Debating Through the Arts: Contemporary Issues in Performance Art used the United Nations model paradigm as a performance score. During the interactive daylong event, artists and interested participants chose an issue related to performance art today, joined a team, and debated their point of view for an audience. Through a structure of debate, caucus, and creative collaboration, participants were provided with an outlet to create and express their respective points of view on important issues in performance art today.
